恋人との別れや感情を表した曲です。
Ｑレコーディングで苦労したことは？
1年前にレコーディングしたのですが、発音の難しいところがありました。でも祖母が日本人なので、できないわけがないと思いがんばりました。“し”とか“そ”に苦労しました。
Ｑグループからソロになった気持ちは？
最初のうちは寂しいし、辛かったですね。控え室、ステージ、すべて一人になったので、なかなか慣れなかったです。でも、ステージでファンのみんなと会話するようになって、最近はずいぶん慣れました。
Ｑお兄さんからアドバイスはありましたか？
歌に関しては、発声についてよくアドバイスをくれます。
Ｑ作詞作曲はどこでどんな風にしていますか？
その時々で違いますが、最初は詞から考えます。夜中一人でいろいろ考えながら作ります。それにメロディをつけていきます。
Ｑ失恋の歌が多いようですが経験からですか？
いろんな感情の流れを意識して書いていますが、なぜか失恋の歌が多いですね（笑）。経験ではないです。
Ｑよく料理を作るそうですね
母の料理やキムチが美味しくて、料理するところをよく見ていたんですよ。それでキムチや、卵料理などを作るようになりましたね。実は中学生のころは料理人になろうと思っていました。
Ｑ演技にも挑戦したいですか？
もちろんです。今は大好きな歌でがんばって、それから挑戦したいですね。

今回の曲はバラードですが、年末までにはダンスもお見せしたいですね。

たくさん尊敬している方がいます。玉置浩二さんが大好きですね。もちろんオリジナルラブさんも。

Former leader of U-KISS, Allen Kibum, whose older brother is SS501 Kim Hyungjoon (Maknae), announced that it had been decided that his long-awaited Japan solo debut 'DREAM', which comprised of songs that he himself had work on the lyrics and song composition, would be released on December 26. The press conference was held on October 16 at esprive, Shinjuku.
Before the interview, a stage was unveiled, and on it, in front of the media as well as the fans, Kibum sang in gentle voice songs like 'I Love You', 'DREAM' and the other, a total of 7 songs, receiving a loud applause from the fans; and from then onward was the press conference (with fans' participation).
Q: What are your thoughts regarding the release of 'DREAM'?
A: It is a song composition which I worked on about 1 year ago. I have often heard the fans asking when it would be released. After worrying about various things, I'm glad that it is finally going to be released.
Q: What is DREAM about as a song?
A: It is a song about lovers who broke up and the feelings following the breakup.
Q: Did you have a hard time for the recording?
A: As the recording was done 1 year ago, I had problem with pronunciation. But since my grandmother is a Japanese, there is no reason for not being able to, so I worked hard for it. I had problem with 'shi' and 'so'.
Q: How do you feel about the change from being in a group to being solo?
A: Initially, I felt lonely inside, it was painful. At the waiting room, on the stage, I was alone in everything; by no means, it was hard to get used to. However, as I can have conversation with the fans on stage, nowadays I'm very used to it.
Q: Was there any advice from your brother?
A: With regards to the song, he gave a good advice on vocalization.
Q: Where and how do you compose song?
A: I don't just do it at any given time. I start with thinking about the lyrics. As I am alone thinking about various things all night, I build it up. And then I add the melody.
Q: You made a lot of songs about heartbreak, is this from your own experience?
A: When I wrote a song, there was a flow of various emotions that came to my mind. Somehow, without knowing it, there were many of the songs about heartbreak *laughs*. It was not from my own experience.
Q: You are good in cooking, right?
A: My mom's cooking as well as her kimchi are very delicious. I often watched her cooking in the kitchen. Thereupon, I tried my hand at preparing some egg dishes and also kimchi. Actually, during my middle school years, I had thought of becoming a chef.
Q: Do you want to challenge yourself in acting, as well?
A: Of course. Now I'm working hard on singing, which I like the most, and then I want to do acting.
Q: I want to see you dance.
A: For this time round, the song is a ballad. By the year-end later, I will show you how I dance.
Q: Any Japanese artists whom you want to do collaboration with?
A: There are many that I respect. I like Tamaki Koji a lot. And of course, Original Love, too.
Q: Any Korean artists whom you want to collaborate with?
A: My brother! He is the number 1 artist that I like the most. I want to do collaboration with him.
Q: Any particular girl group that you like?
A: I like all of the girl groups. I'm joking *laughs*. I have joined the entertainment industry since I was young. As we do similar work, I don't harbour such feeling. It won't do good. I like them all *laughs*.
Q: Any words for our friends staying in Kyushu, Osaka, Shikoku and Nagoya who wish you to come and visit?
A: I have many places that I really want to go to. Due to the distance, I can't just say "I'm going today!", but I want to go, so I will make sure I'll go. So what I want to say is, please wait for me as I will make sure to go.
Q: Any goal for the future?
A: I don't worry about ranking that much. I want to do my best together with the fans.
