10月16日に東京 新大久保・多目的ホールespriveにて、元U-KISSのリーダーでSS501のキム・ヒョンジュン（マンネ）を兄に持つ、シンガー・ソングライターのアレン・キボムが「日本ソロデビュー記者発表会」を行なった。
現在、毎週火曜日に同所にてライブを行っているが、2011年より語学力を活かしライブ活動、MC、ミュージカルやバラエティー出演など日本で精力的に活動している。12月26日に発売される日本ソロデビューシングル「Dream」では、アレン・キボム自身が作詞・作曲を手掛けた作品だ。
日本デビューに関しては、会見よりもひと足早くライブにてファンへ報告すると、待ちに待ったファンからの「心配していました」や「長い間待っていました」の安堵の声に、「『キボムの人生どうなるのかな』って心配した？」とおどけて見せ、「僕も21年待ちました」とファンと共に笑った。
その後行われた発表会では、記者以外からの質問にもユーモアを交えながらも、誠実に答える姿が印象的だった。
On October 16 at the multipurpose hall esprive, Shin-Okubo, the former leader of U-KISS, who is the younger brother of SS501 Kim Hyungjoon (Maknae), the singer/song-writer Allen Kibum held press conference for his Japan solo debut.
Currently doing live performances every Tuesday at the said venue, he has been rigorously doing live activities, MC, musical as well as variety show appearances since 2011, making use of his language skill. For his Japan solo debut single 'Dream', which is going to be on sale from December 26, Allen Kibum had himself personally worked on the lyrics and song composition.
Regarding his Japan debut, the reports from interviews done with the fans, who were waiting for the start of the live performance, ranged from showing relief like "I was so worried" or "I've been waiting for so long" to joking like "I was worried, thinking what had become of Kibum's life?" And I laughed along with the fans "I, too, had waited for 21 years."
At the end of the announcement, while some humor was also thrown into the mix for the questions from the non-media personnel, the honest answers given were still impressive.
